Screen Print Pressing Instructions

The key to high heat screen print transfers is pressure. The more pressure, the better. You want to be able to see the fibers of the fabric through the screen print.

How To Tell If Your Screen Print Is High Heat Or Low Heat
The information being providedĀ couldĀ be used for other companies but these are specific to Vmoon Designs.

Most single color prints will be low heat. The best indicator for if a design is low heat is the rough feel it has on the back side. Imagine sanding paper, that's what it will feel like.

For full color prints, they will be high heat. The best indicator for if a design is high heat is the smooth feel on the back.

If you are new to screen prints overall, it is highly recommended that you get a shirt and an extra screen print. Cut the extra screen print up into 4-8 pieces and press the design until you find the perfect time and temperature mixture. If your design looks dull and faded, you blew the colors out. You will want to either lower your temperature or time.Ā

For single color prints, we have phased out the high heat designs and moved towards the low heat prints. The recommended time and temperature for these is 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-10 seconds. Remove the transfer paper slowly and if any of the design is not releasing from said transfer paper, place back down and repress.Ā

For full color designs, it is recommended to press at 350-360 (some may even go up to 375) for 7-10 seconds.Ā If your design looks dull and faded, you blew the colors out. You will want to either lower your temperature or time.

Full Disclaimer - Each heat press is different. What may work for me, may not work for you. What works for Customer A may not work for Customer B, C, or D. What is highly recommended is to know your heat press and be prepared.Ā We will not be replacing orders due to transfers not releasing from the transfer paper.
